Resumen | The goal of the MARS project is to create chlorophyll-a concentration maps for coastal waters, particularly for those from the Mediterranean Sea, using satellite data |
Actividades del proyecto | Establishment of a standard procedure for the acquisition and processing of satellite data (Sentinel-2), including the testing of some already existing algorithms for atmospheric and sunglint corrections, as well as for chlorophyll-a concentrations. Comparison of in situ and satellite chlorophyll-a data to identify spatial areas of discrepancy caused by satellite concentration retrieval errors. Identification of which parameters cause the errors. Acquisition of collocated and simultaneous in situ and satellite data of chlorophyll-a from previously identified areas. Training and modification of the standard processing algorithm with the new in situ data. Developing a new tailored algorithm suitable for coastal waters. |
